The Governator's House. It was nice to be the Governator. Many trivial offences were punishable by death. If you weren't a gentleman, you were either an indentured servant (company employee), or slave. Indentured servants were granted their freedom, and land, after 7 years. The Virginia Company of London was a financial disaster, as all the early "colony companies" were. Virginia was made a royal colony (nationalized) by King James I in 1624.
